Open Dans 2011

Our aim is to organize the festival in June 2011, but we cannot give an exact date yet.

The festival dates are 24/ 25/ 26 June 2011.

 

Open Dans is a festival for:

• Dance and related art; choreography, dance art, dance video, dance installation, dance workshops, dance jam, dance improvisation, site-specific dance
• All genres of dance, including but not limited to modern, tango, hiphop, fusion, tap, etcetera
• Finished pieces, try-out or work-in-progress (don't hesitate to submit crazy, fresh ideas)
• Not only performances but also concerts, debate, workshops

 

We are looking for:

• Urgency, choreography that needs to be made and shown to the public
• Enthusiasm, commitment, ambition
• People with strong connection to Rotterdam
• A diverse program, all genres and forms
• Young makers, who do not have had many opportunities to show their work
• Works that can be adjusted to the sober technical conditions of the festival

 

 

 

 

We offer:

• A stage with basic equipment
• Or the possibility to fit work to the festival location
• Audience
• Promotion, to the general audience as well as to dance professionals
• An action packed weekend with many other dance enthusiasts
• We aim to offer a modest fee to participants, but are still awaiting the outcome of our funding applications

Deadline for submissions is March 31st, 2011. 
Notification of acceptance by April 15th.
